6th Grade Language Arts, Literature, Latin April 14

These plans are subject to change according to students’ needs

This is our last week of the term, and we are ahead in spelling.  Some did not take their spelling test last week.  It will be given Tuesday.  We will begin a new vocabulary list this week in Latin: first declension nouns (feminine nouns ending in a).  We will also begin a collaborative story in the form of a journal based around a fictional journey to California during the western expansion.  We will also discuss oral reports on the research papers the students have just turned in.  Each child will be required to make an oral presentation using his/her outline.  Fifty percent of the grade will be based on the quality of the visual (poster).  These will be due the week of April 21.  We will have time for 2-3 presentations a day.
