6th Grade Language Arts, Latin Sept 2-5
This will be a short week as we begin with Labor Day and end with our two day field trip. This will give us a chance to concentrate on writing. The students began a short memoir at the end of last week. We will spend our two days editing and rewriting. We will focus on showing the action using sensory words rather than telling what happened. There will be no spelling this week. We will also begin the study of grammar using the Shurley method in which the students analyze sentences by labeling all of the parts of speech. Latin also reinforces our English grammar study. We will continue with Latin.
