7th Grade Assignments for week of Sept 29-Oct 3
Updated by on Friday, September 26, 2008 at 1:32 PM

7th Grade Language Arts, Literature, Latin Sept 29-Oct. 3

In Latin we will begin working on the imperfect tense (I was walking or I used to walk) and the future tense of the first conjugation.  These are the “âre” verbs that became the “ar” verbs in Spanish.  We are also translating sentences, which means the children must figure out the meaning of the words, what tense the verbs are in, and which parts of speech the nouns are.  [We call them cases in Latin.]  That’s a lot of balls to juggle, but they are beginning to see the light.   We will have a vocabulary test and an endings test on Friday.   We have reached the end of the first section of our literature anthology.  Thursday we will have a summation test.  This week the students will write a descriptive essay.  Remember: these plans are subject to change according to the students’ needs.  If you have any questions please feel free to call or make an appointment to meet with me from 3:00-3:45.
