7th Grade Language Arts, Literature, Latin Oct. 6-10
In Latin we will continue on the imperfect tense (I was walking or I used to walk) and the future tense of the first conjugation. The ladies are getting much better at translation. Soon we will have caught up with the vocabulary, and translating will be much easier. We will have a vocabulary test on Friday. Since this is the 7th week of the term, we’ll be able to do some special projects. We will read Nine Years Among the Indians, a true story written by Herman Lehmann about being an Apache captive. Our discussions will cover author’s craft, vocabulary, and literary elements: setting, exposition, rising action, climax, resolution, theme, and mood. As always these plans are subject to change according to the needs of the students.
