Plant sale success. Thanks to everyone for participating in the recent plant sale benefiting the PFO. We now have an additional $ 400.00 to help improve our children's education at SSES. Look for the sale again next spring.
Going once, going twice. Now is the time to reach out and help fill up the silent auction menu for the SSES Spring Extravaganza. Tax forms for donations are available in the front office. Now is the time to rally grandparents, friends and family to help sell raffle tickets (only 19 of the 300 tickets have been sold). A head count for the April 28th Preparty at the Mandola Winery is needed, so please respond to the email Evite.
The music line up for Sunday April 29th from 1-7 p.m. now includes Porter Davis, Carolyn Wonderland, Sarah Jarosz (www.myspace.com /sarahjaroszmusic), Slim Richey and the Jitterbug Vipers, Matt the Electrician and Laura Freeman (greenkidmusic.com). Check out their My Space web sites for more info.

CHIP and Children's Medicaid provide coverage to families who earn up to 200 percent of the federal poverty level. That's $40,000 a year for a family of four. The maximum enrollment fee for coverage is $50 every six months, which covers all eligible children in a family, quite a bargain when the average cost of private health insurance for Texas families exceeds $900 per month. Families can get more information on these programs or an application at www.CHIPmedicaid.org or call the CHIP/Children's Medicaid Hotline at 1-877-KIDS-NOW.
Open enrollment began April 1 for new students. If your children will be attending SSES next year, please get the contracts and deposits back to the front office.
Reduce, reuse and recycle! Thanks to Kelly O'Connor, Jake and Mason's Mom, for taking our SSES recycling items to the recycling center every week this year. Keep those items coming!!
Thanks to Diana Perry, Jack's Mom for donating our new signs for PFO meetings. Next meeting is Tuesday April 17th after dropoff.
Let it shine! Know of unsung heroes or great stuff going on at SSES? Please email Kolleen Blanton at kwilwerd@aol.com your items by the Tuesday before Friday publication.
