Introduction to Archaeology,
spring semester 2006,

Course Description: This course covers the fundamentals of archaeology, moving through the perspectives of history and theory. Specifically, we will explore the concepts of dialectics, hermeneutics, and social critique, with specific case studies.

Grading Scheme: Students will be evaluated every six –weeks grading period base upon daily grades and one exam per grading period. As there are three grading periods in the semester, there will be three six-weeks exams. A comprehensive semester exam will be given at the end of the semester. The semester average will be made up of the

Six-weeks grades:
50% = daily work (Questions of the Day).
50% = 3 exams

Semester Grades:
6th grade: 90% average of the 3 six-weeks grading periods + 10% comprehensive exam
7th grade: 85% average of the 3 six-weeks grading periods + 15% comprehensive exam
8th grade: 80% average of the 3 six-weeks grading periods + 20% comprehensive exam
