Parents & Friends: PFO Weekly Mail for March 8, 2007

Congratulations to all of our students that participated in the Science Fair last week. The projects were outstanding! 11 students will go on to attend the SAES Regional Fair. The SAES Regional Fair will be held in Victoria on April 12 and 13. For more information on the regional fair please visit  www.swaes.org/resources/resources.htm.   Spring is in the air!!! Please join us on Saturday March 24th for a spring clean up of our school. This event is sponsored by the Mandola family, and that means lots of great food! This is a great time to come together as a community and refresh and brighten our campus. We are looking for a few good crew chiefs and lots of helping hands. Sign up sheets will come home soon.   Plans for the Spring Extravaganza are on a roll! We have a fantastic preparty planned for the 28th, complete with music by Matt the Electrician. The music lineup for Sunday now includes Matt the Electrician as well as other fabulous talent. Raffle tickets will go on sale soon. Tickets are $100.00 and the winner will get a choice of three trips: an Ecotour in Costa Rica, a cruise on Royal Caribbean or a trip to Ireland!  The date is April 29th and we need your help!! We are still in need of volunteers. Please contact Tesa Stark at tstark1041@aol.com or Amy Jameson at ksflashers@aol.com.   Spring Orientations.   New and returning families will join faculty and staff to discuss curriculum and the school calendar as we look to the 07/08 Academic year. The orientation dates are March 8 for PK, March 22 for Primary School,  March 29 for Intermediate School and April 12 for Middle School. All orientations will be held from 4-5pm in the Parish Hall.    Nominations are now being accepted for PFO officer positions, including President, Secretary, Communications and Volunteer Coordinator. The purpose of the PFO is to improve the quality of our children's educational  experience at SSES. Please consider serving, or if you know of someone that would do a great job, contact Terri Thompson, our current president. The next PFO meeting is scheduled for March 20th right after drop off. Guest speaker will include Christine Byrne from the SSES fundraising committee.   2007/2008  Re-enrollment Letters of intent have been mailed out and are due by March 30 to guarantee placement. Open enrollment begins April 1 for new students.
